Kevin Tong 360 Energy Group Staff Spotlight

Meet our latest Staff Spotlight, Kevin Tong. Kevin is a qualified mechanical engineer with over 4 years of experience specializing in high performance building design, performing assessment, design, construction, and commissioning services. His skills include energy auditing, model simulation, schematic design, construction drawing, and grant procurement for solar, boiler, chiller, HVAC, and building automation systems. Kevin received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago as a Pi Tau Sigma honorary mechanical engineering society member, engineering researcher, and performance engineer at a utility startup providing combined heat and power to local businesses. At 360EG, Kevin provides assessment and retro-commissioning services identifying building performance improvements for public and private entities. We appreciate your hard work, Kevin!


Where are you from? I was born and raised in Chicago, but my parents are from Hong Kong


What is your favorite part of your job? Working with remarkable colleagues in a specialized industry to deliver lasting contributions in an uncontested market


What are some of your hobbies outside of work? I race club and regional 100cc go-karts. I also have an old BMW that I track at least once a year


What is your favorite color? Ocean pastel


What is your favorite book or movie? The Fountainhead and Blade Runner 2049


If you could be any cartoon character for a week who would you be? Wheeler from Captain Planet or Jake “Razor” Clawson from SWAT Kats


If you could move anywhere in the world where would you live? Chicago will always be home, but I wouldn’t mind Newport Coast
